Should we extend SCons to implement directly the features provided by SBuild? No, not really. SCons is good at what it does and it should keep that focus.

Should we take care that SCons doesn't block implementation of features as those provided by SBuild? Yes, definitely. In my opinion, it is even desired to have SCons actively support and encourage the development of SBuild-like extensions.
